Our Commitment

Guardsman Security Services Ltd is committed to conducting its activities in a responsible manner and to reducing the environmental impact of our operations wherever reasonably practicable.

We recognise that security services can affect the environment through travel, energy use, procurement, waste, uniforms, equipment and day-to-day business activities. We aim to manage these impacts proportionately while continuing to provide safe and reliable services to our clients.

Our Environmental Objectives

We aim to:

  • comply with applicable environmental legislation and relevant client requirements;
  • reduce unnecessary energy and resource consumption;
  • minimise waste and encourage reuse and recycling where practicable;
  • manage business waste responsibly and use authorised waste contractors where required;
  • reduce unnecessary travel and improve journey planning where operationally feasible;
  • consider environmental performance when purchasing uniforms, equipment and supplies;
  • encourage digital records and communications where appropriate to reduce paper use;
  • prevent pollution and respond appropriately to environmental incidents; and
  • promote environmental awareness among employees and workers.

Travel & Transport

Because our services may require personnel to travel between sites, we recognise transport as an important environmental consideration. We seek to plan deployments and mobile operations efficiently and encourage responsible driving and journey planning where this is compatible with operational requirements.

Waste & Resources

We aim to reduce waste, reuse materials where suitable and recycle wherever practical. Business waste will be stored and transferred responsibly in accordance with applicable duty-of-care requirements.

Employees and workers are expected to use company resources responsibly and avoid unnecessary waste.

Procurement

Where reasonably practicable, environmental considerations may form part of purchasing decisions. This can include product durability, packaging, energy efficiency, recyclability, responsible sourcing and the ability to reuse or repair equipment.

Client Sites

When working at client premises, our personnel are expected to comply with relevant site environmental procedures, including waste segregation, spill reporting, energy-saving requirements and other reasonable environmental controls communicated through assignment instructions or site induction.

Responsibilities & Review

Senior management is responsible for promoting this policy and considering environmental performance within business decisions. Employees and workers are expected to support the policy through responsible day-to-day behaviour.

This policy will be reviewed periodically and updated where required to reflect changes in our operations, legislation and environmental objectives.

Policy Review

This policy is intended to be reviewed at least annually and sooner where there is a significant change in legislation, company operations or relevant risk.
